Who we are

Isiqalo institute in Academics is an upgrading school currently operating at Mangosuthu University of Technology, we help learners who did not meet qualifying points in their desired courses, we improve their matric results by giving them the best educators and changing their mindset towards their studies. Our learners have two options when it comes to the writing center, its either they write in their previous school which is free or they allow Isiqalo to give them an accredited writing center which charges them R1000.00 regardless of how many subjects.

We select our educators from best performing high schools who have experience in producing excellent results, our educators are patient enough since they understand that not all learners can grasp the content at the same pace, they are able to create a comfortable environment for learners to question and allow them to echo their views or opinions during class session in the below subjects.

We took an initiative of providing extra-classes to Grade 12 learners around Durban because our core existence is to ensure that learners receive quality education, by doing so we minimize the number of learners who are unable to access institutions of higher learning due to their results, other grades like grade 9 & 10 are soon to be introduced.
Learners of Isiqalo Institute in Academics are not immune from the challenges faced by the youth of this country, which mainly is drug abuse, teenage pregnancy, depression, HIV & Aids, Gender based violence etc, therefore we conduct awareness campaigns working with relevant organizations so that our learners are well equipped on how to avoid or deal with these challenges.
We have witnessed many learners applying to courses that do not match with their subjects, therefore we took an initiative to give our learners career guidance though their choices are already limited to the subjects that they chose in grade 10, we further visit high schools to give career guidance mainly to grade 9 learners who still have a chance to choose between commerce and science based on their desired career paths.
